Adam Kinney announced that Oxite - the open source, standards compliant, has been "hard-launched" today. In his post there is a video with the interview of Erik and Nathan form the dev team on the subject. You can also find links to few of the posts on Oxite today.

Nigel Sampson has a great article for beginning a Silverlight Animation framework. Follow the process for applying an animation to an element together with Nigel and you won’t regret.
 
Mark Monster has written two articles that deserve your attention. The first one is about the integration between Silverlight and the Google Chart API and it has source code. The second is about getting the NTLM Username into your Silverlight application and will be very helpful to those of you who want to know the username of the person that logged into your web site.
 
Bill Reiss and Jeff Brand have commented the announcement of Netflix that 50 of its technical specialists in its customer service group will be let go at the start of next year. And Netflix put the blame on Microsoft’s Silverlight. As Bill says, that’s a bad new for the people who are getting laid off but definitely a positive one for Silverlight.
 
Ben Williams has a post about meshing in C++. Here he explains the advantages of C++ CLI. With C++ CLI available, you can easily take just a single file or your whole project and build it with the capability to interact natively with .NET assemblies.
 
Jonas Follesoe posted the material from his presentation from Melbourne Silverlight Designer and Developer Network first meeting. He concentrates on three things – Silverlight Toolkit, Silverlight Mesh-enabled Web Applications, and Business Application Framework for SL2.
