Mike Ormond wrote the article “Silverlight No Selection ListBox and ViewBox” , which is again dedicated to his Twitfeed Silverlight application. He needed to resolve four things – scaling the ListBox with a ViewBox, accessing individual ListBox items, disabling selection, and he also wanted horizontal ListBox.

Martin Grayson has a two minute video on how to start using Blacklight Controls in Blend.
 
In Ning Zhang’s blog there is an article which is an overview of the design time features in the Silverlight Toolkit December 2008 release. He promises to continue with the posts on that theme and soon to explain how to develop design time features for Blend and Visual Studio, and provide some general framework/code.Top read articles
 
The first two Silverlight Toolkit videos of Jesse Liberty are now ready. The first video is a gentle introduction to the Silverlight Toolkit and the second begins the series proper with the AutoCompleteBox control. Jesse also made some changes in his blog in order to meet the needs of various readers.
 
Shawn Oster has posted about working with units of measure in a NumericUpDown. This is one of Shawn’s favorite controls released with the Silverlight Toolkit and according to him you may easily extend it to provide some great user experiences.
 
Jeff Handley has a post named “Custom Controls Everywhere – In XAML”. If you are not familiar with Jeff’s Custom Controls Everywhere concept, here you’ll find some of his posts on the subject. According to him Custom Controls Everywhere will never hurt you, it can only help you.
 
In the Deep Zoom blog there is a reference to a project of Mark Dawson - a Silverlight viewer for Photosynth. It uses Deep Zoom when you zoom deeply into images or in 2-D layout.
 
Alexey Zakharov wrote a Silverlight tip about splash screen issues. Many people think that they cannot use layout controls (grid, stackpanel etc) because silverlight splash screen is managed with JavaScript. But Alexey found that this is a total delusion.
 
Kevin Dockx has an article on easily reading application settings from configuration file (web.config). Here he explains how to access settings from the web.config of the web application hosting the Silverlight-control, which you can easily change when you need to without rebuilding and on the fly.

And with the coming of Christmas holidays Terence Tsang introduces a Christmas Ecard Website with a lot of lovely and beautiful designs. You can view how an Ecard was drawn with a realistic card flip feeling.
 
John McLoughlin and Chris Hayuk just released the second part of their PDC podcast. They had interviews with Shawn Burke, Tim Sneath and Mike Swanson.
 
Jose Fajardo takes one beautiful flash site and reproduces it in Silverlight. At the end of the article there is a Silverlight Demo Version of what he has done.
 
Koen Zwikstra announces that he quits his job and founds his own company First Floor Software. First Floor Software will develop various Silverlight related products, such as Silverlight Spy. Koen will also help companies build their Silverlight applications.
 
Bart Czernicki has dedicated two of his articles to the future release of Silverlight 3. In Part 1 of the article, he looks at what has been announced so far and in Part 2, he will take a stab at some educated guesses as to what Silverlight 3 will include. At the moment only the first part is available so hurry up and read what they can predict about SL3. And there is another article of Bart’s that deserves your attention. It is focused on understanding WCF transfer security visually.
 
Jonathan van de Veen solves the problem with storing Silverlight DataGrid settings. He found a way to store the information for his users and restore the settings whenever the user comes back.
