Jesse Liberty starts the week with another great article in Data-Binding and this time the topic is Data Conversion. Also check out his a few days ago released article also about Data-Binding, called "Margin Notes".

After writing a couple of mini-articles about creating custom controls Jesse goes to the next level by showing how to implement visual states into them.

Page Brooks shows a technique that allows us to write code that works properly in both Silverlight and regular .NET applications. To learn more about it take a look at his article - "Sharing Code Between .NET and Silverlight Platforms".

Dave Relyea wrote a short post about the lifecycle of a control in Silverlight. In it you can find a table that also makes a comparison between the lifecycles of controls instantiated in the Xaml and in the code.

Mike Taulty has created a PowerPoint presentation that contains 20 pictures and is about "What is Silverlight?".

Sam from Silverlight SDK posted an updated document with the breaking changes that came with the release candidate of Silverlight 2.

Wonder why you can't find the Chiron.exe? Tim Heuer explains that in his post.

Shawn Wildermuth uploaded his demo source code to his sessions on the SDN Conference. You can find more about that in his post.

Do you remember the PathTextBlock control made by Bill Reiss? This time Bill shares some freeware fonts for it!

Three days have passed since the last news we wrote and now here are three new tips from Mike Snows. This time the topics are "Text Wrapping and Line Breaks in TextBlocks", "How to Display Special Characters in XAML", "How to load a XAML Control From a File or String".

Ray Booysen wrote a very interesting article concerning Unit Testing and INotifyPropertyChanged.

Jeff Handley shows a more suitable workaround of the "Tab Navigation in a Popup" issue.
