After a few changes have been made, it seems that developers can now submit more than 5 applications per year. If the developer pay 99$ per year, he/she can submit unlimited payed applications. This is not the same with free applications. Developers can submit 5 free applications per registration. Every other free application will cost him/her 19,99$. The rules for students (who don't have to pay 99$ per year, since they have free account in DreamSpark) are the same - unlimited payed applications and 5 free. Microsoft now offers a new optional push notification service to help developers stay engaged with customers and a new optional Trial API - trials mean that more customers can try your app, and it is less likely that they will return it. The time or the type of the trial is fully controlled by the developer.
